Harrow Youth League Division 3

First game of the new season and we were up against our old foes Pinnstars, it was like we were never away. Inside 10mins we were 3-0 up, Ishvind carrying on from last year by heading in Daniels corner, then Ish again slotted the ball in from a through ball by Rikin, and the 3rd came from another Daniel corner and this time scrambled in by Rikin. PS got one back after a little lapse in defence, but our 3 goal cushion was restored when a quick throw in to George who, turned the two defenders before scoring Our 5th came after Daniels shot richoched off a couple of players and deflected in off Ish for his hat-trick. Sam got our 6th but I missed that one, and as the half came to an end Sam got hold of a shot which the keeper did well to save and Rikin followed it in for a 7-1 lead at half time. With a comfortable lead the second half began with the boys making sure they won the ball and kept possession and it wasn’t long before a darting run down the left wing by Daniel who then cut the ball into the box for Ish to grab his 4th and the V’s 8th goal. A goal clearance by Matteo and the ball landing at Ish feet in PS half he held it up unselfishly passed as George made his run and unleased a great shot to make it 9. PS got one back to make it 9-2. George got his hat-trick after picking the ball up inside his half and running straight at goal before shooting from the tightest of angles but out of reach of the keeper. The boys still hadn’t given up and Mahmoud advanced up the pitch before playing the ball into Daniel a quick turn to Ish and he got his 5th. Our 12th and final goal came as Rikin got his hat-trick from Daniels cross, heading in at the far post. Although this game should have been about the 3 hat-trick hero’s I would say the MotM performance goes to our creator Daniel who seemed to be involved in everything good, the defence did have a quiet game but at times were called into duty, there will be much tougher games ahead, looking forward to next week. The U13s first home game of the season welcomed London Athletic. The boys started slowly and were disjointed in their passing and movement and a physically strong opposition took adavantage and took the lead through an own goal coming in the first 10 minutes. The U13s responded well and finally woke up and as a result equalised within minutes of going a goal down through a strong run and shot by Stefan. The U13s were now in full flow and were playing good pass and move football and were rewarded with a 2nd coming from Sachin breaking into the box and finishing off a great move. The game remained finely balanced although the U13s should have been out of sight had it not been for poor finishing and great keeping. However the game was put to bed with a 3rd coming from a corner which was put in by Luke. A fourth quickly followed as Josh P capped off a strong and controlled performance. MotM Luke. The boys were strong and creative and produced an excellent performance, well done. Performance Rating 8.5

Baptism of fire for the Under 12's today in their first ever competitive league fixture.  We came across a very well drilled team in Chiswick.  The first 10 minutes we could not get the ball and were second best in every aspect of the game. We let a very early goal in and struggled to keep up with the opposition.  For the last 20 minutes of the first half the V's did grow in confidence and believed we could give Chiswick a game. We did play some good football and move the ball the V's way and came in only a goal down at half time.  The second half didn't start to well and we let in a couple of early goals. The V's did not give up and battled away but we're just out played by a good side. Performance Rating 5.5
