Harrow Youth League Division 3

After victory in our first game, a slow start lead to HY taking the lead from a free-kick which took a slight deflection. No one wanted to fight in the first half but the second half was a different game. We started better, chance after chance came until Ishvind took a shot from outside the box to draw level, game on! Chances from Ishvind, George, Krish & Daniel went amiss but the second V's goal came from a great long throw from James, straight to Ishvinds feet and he slotted past the keeper for a 2-1 lead. The last 15 minutes was all about holding the lead and seeing the game out and getting the 3 points. Our defence kept strong and we won the game. Today's MotM goes to Ishvind for getting the all important goals and never giving up, keeping his head up after missing some chances earlier in the game.

Middlesex County FA U14 Youth Cup

A predictable result bearing in mind the gulf in ability between these two teams. 9-0 down at half time the V's at least created a few half chances in their best spell early in the second half, but the procession of Parkfield goals continued to the final whistle. The season starts next week! Performance Rating 6.0

The U13s travelled to Feltham to play Elite Magic in the league. With both Luke and Maxim out, we had to reshuffle at the back where Mustafa slotted in. The first 15 minutes were very scrappy with both teams struggling to keep possession for any period of time. Mid-way through the first half the oppostion won a corner and with a great header from their centre back made it 1-0. The U13s responded well and from a corner of their own, Josh P scored directly. The game waa evenly poised at half time. The second half changed as the oppostion became more phyiscal and the number of cynical fouls and shirt pulling increased but went unpunished. This impacted the U13s as they were not gettimg any decisions and as a result they became frustrated and the opposition capitalised and scored a second with 10 minutes to go. The U13s were really struggling but some how they composed themselves and Sachin, after having a moment himself, spurred the side on and deservedly Stefan got the equaliser. With a minute left Stefan went on another run and cut back to Josh L who slotted in calmly, to see the U13s break into wild celebrations. A really well deserved victory where the U13s showed immense character in a game where everything was stacked agaimst them. Super well done and a special mention to Mustafa who was outstanding at the back along with Bardya. Performance Rating 9.0

Harrow Youth League Division 3

A tough morning for the boys as they went down 0-5 for the second week running. A sluggish start saw the boys go 1-0 down in the opening minutes and after around 15 mins it was 2-0. With no control in the midfield and struggling to cope with a couple of pacy forwards, the V's couldn't get any rhythm or pattern to their play. On the stroke of half-time it was 3-0. The boys picked up in the second half and created 2-3 decent chances but couldn't convert them due to some good keeping and indifferent finishing. Two more goals for BPR followed and but for Matty having an excellent game in goal, it could have been worse. Performance Rating 6.0
